Quick & Easy Yarn from Plastic Bags

Ever wondered how people make yarn with plastic?? Here’s a quick & easy tutorial.

One of my resolutions for 2023 is to make more sustainable choices. One easy way I can reduce waste is by utilizing reusable shopping bags. Instead of trashing the plastic bags stuffed in my kitchen drawer, I might as well make use of them. Instead of buying bags, I made some!

Here’s what you’re going to need:

• Plastic bags

• Scissors

• 6mm crochet hook

Tips:

• Come up with a color scheme. I chose all-white bags but you could mix different colors!

• Stack 3 bags before folding to save time

• Cut strips no smaller than 1-inch wide (wider strips make bulkier yarn)

• Use a yarn winder
