How to Crochet Hanging Baskets

You’re going to love this quick & easy crochet project. A set of teardrop crochet baskets makes a beautiful Mother’s Day gift or a treat for yourself. I’m a big fan of putting small plants in these hanging baskets. They also make great storage for kitchens or bathrooms. Keep reading for the video tutorial and the free written crochet pattern.

Finished sizes:

Small: 12 in (30.5 cm) x 7.5 in (19 cm)

Medium: 14 in (35.5 cm) x 8.5 in (21.5 cm)

Large: 16 in (40.5 cm) x 9.5 in (24 cm)

Supplies:

3mm natural jute (hobby lobby brand used in tutorial)

Alternative: 3mm cotton cord (I like the brand Ganxxet use code BAGSBYBENTO10 for 10% off )

9mm hook

Scissors

Large needle

Optional: stitch marker

ABBREVIATIONS:

CH - Chain

INC - Increase

REP - Repeat

SC - Single Crochet

SC2TOG - Single Crochet Two Together

Insert hook into the 1st ST, YO (yarn over), pull up a loop, insert hook into 2nd ST, YO, pull up a loop, YO, pull through all 3 loops on hook (1 stitch decrease)

SL ST - Slip Stitch

ST - Stitch

GAUGE:

Follow rounds 1-4 of the pattern

24 STS and 4 rounds = 4.5 in (11.5 cm) x 4.5 in (11.5 cm)
