How to Create a Marketing Plan

GASP 😮

“I think… I maybe… forgot to… invite people.”

In my junior year of college, I was in charge of planning an alumni event. I was determined to make it the best alumni mixer of all time (said no one ever).

I bought adorable umbrellas🍹 for the cocktails. I made table centerpieces out of tissue paper flowers. I spent the majority of the budget on a Photo Booth cause that was the THING in 2012.

But you know what I didn’t do?! Send the invitations 🫠

A few days before the event, I scrambled to email, call, and Facebook everyone so the event wouldn’t be a total bust.

Moral of the story…

Don’t get so lost in the details that you forget the goal.

When I was planning to start my crochet business, I focused on all the tiny details. I thought about my business name for months. Spent hours on Canva designing a logo. Agonized over how my business cards should look.

Not once did it occur to me to focus on how I would get people to see my crochet products.
